Yummy Coleslaw (Room 7 made this)
Sliced raw cabbage
Chopped walnuts
raisins
chopped red peppers grated carrot
finely chopped red onion or chopped spring onions
mayonnaise


Mix all the above in whatever proportions you find tasty! I like to add 
cubes of cheese and then its almost a meal in itself.


Roasted Kumera Soup



Chopped kumera (3-4 large)
Chopped onion (2-3)
4-5 cloves of garlic
1-2 tsp of curry powder
Oil to mix
Tetra pack of vege or chicken stock.
Toss all the above in a bit of oil and put on oven tray. Roast at about 200 C until done to your liking. Bring a cup of water and a tetrapac of vege to
the boil. Add roasted veges, bring back to the boil. Whizz up and serve! ( You can thin down with water or stock if needed)
 Curried Cauliflower Soup

1/2 a cauliflower
2 Onions 
2 tablespoons butter
2 teaspoons curry powder (or more, depending on taste)
3 cups of chicken stock
2 tablespoons of flour
2 cups of milk
fresh parsley


Cut cauliflower into small flowerets. Chop onion finely. Gently fry the vegetables in butter for about 10 minutes without browning. Stir in the curry powder and add the chicken stock. Cover and simmer for about 25 minutess. Mix flour with a little milk and slowly stir into soup. Add remainder of milk and salt to taste. Simmer for a further 10 minutes.  Just before serving, add a handful of chopped parsley. Serve with fresh bread. Yum
